We'd been talking about bringing a dog into our lives. Michael had been looking online, but no one had jumped out to him. One day I, Lucero, was at the local feed store and one of the guys had an unfamiliar dig with him. "Hi, Ezra! New dog?" "No. She needs a home. Her owners are splitting up. Losing their house." The dog was chewing away on a bone, made a quick glace up at me. I made my purchase and carried on.
Once back home I told Michael about the dog. "Hmmm, I'm going into town anyway and will swing by." About an hour later, I get a text, "She just jumped into the truck."
Name changed to Jessie, she is Australlian Blue Heeler and we think Kelpie (it's those unique vocalizations!). Smart as a tack and so full of energy we definitly had to pick up our pace. Unabashedly keyed into Michael, she watches over us all - including the four cats she lives with. Her neighbor is Chester, the pug. They both keep us going when we'd maybe just be sitting doing "something".
